Animation slides.
Madison
On Tuesday Tania came into the class and taught us how to make animations out of google slides. She told us we had to make them about a procedure because that is the type of writing we are doing. I learnt that when you make a new slide you move the character or subject a little bit then when you have finished you go onto present and push the right arrow and go through all the slides and it will look like a real animation. I made my animation about how to cut down a Christmas tree. It was fun and I have made others.

Bella, Patience R, Pippiana,
We learnt how important it is to have a healthy balanced meal, which means a healthy diet. A healthy meal is made up of a quarter of a plate of carbohydrates, a quarter plate of protein and half a plate of vegetables. You should have about 8,700 kilojoules a day.
Did you know that carbohydrates are starches (This includes potatoes, breads, flour, etc….) .
Meat, fish, cheese, tofu, beans, lentils, yogurt, nuts, and seeds are all proteins.
You shouldn’t have too much saturated fat because if you do, it could eventually lead to a heart attack. (Saturated fat is butter.)
Sugars are carbohydrates that provide our bodies with energy.
You need sodium to have a healthy diet. Sodium is for tears and sweat (ick!).
You need protein to repair your bodies tissues. Protein also helps you grow.
If we eat more energy than we need it will be stored as body fat.
Our group, chose France. We made a baguette as our carbohydrates, the salad as the veggies and the chicken drumsticks as the protein.
A big thanks to our fantastic parent helpers Sheila, Ngawai, Masami and Nikki!

We learnt how to make sushi with Masami. it was nice to know how to make Healthy food from around the world. Making all the ingredients was really interesting; like how we make teriyaki chicken. We learnt how to make sushi by folding and squeezing the sushi to hold it all together. Before we put the things on we dipped our hands into the Vinegar. I never knew that sushi was made like that. I had a very interesting day and I also saw how other people made different foods from different countries. I loved experiencing different food.
I think the best part of making it was when we put all the ingredients on the seaweed first then the rice, chicken, cucumber and then the egg. IT WAS FUN!

Today we made a German meal we had to get all the ingredients and a recipe how to make it.We made sauerkraut with pickles and black bread. We also cooked some onions to go with it.
We chose the German meal because it looked like a very good meal and also because it was a little change for us all to try something new.
In our meal we had some carbohydrates. The carbohydrates were black bread. We had protein the protein was sausages. We also had cabbage, gherkins, and chow chow those were the veggies. We also had onions. Here are some of the ingredients we used and the amount of kilojoules in it.
We enjoyed cooking a German meal. We had lots fun hopefully we can do it again sometime.

We have been learning about healthy food and we decided to make a healthy and balanced meal.
The food that we chose was Chinese food.
We made a stir fry with chicken vegetables and egg with a side of rice. it didn’t come out as we wanted it to but it still tasted good. We made chinese food, the cooking was fun but I thought we needed a little bit more salt.
When we cooked the rice we kept on wondering if it was cooked or not and eventually when it was cooked we remembered that we didn’t clean it first and there was a lot of starch in it! Cooking the rice took a while and it was a bit gooey but I didn’t mind it.

Chevylee Powtoon!
Healthy Food Animation
I really enjoyed finding out how to use Powtoon to make an animation and how to use the props and the image library. I also really enjoyed learning about healthy food and learning how to make a balanced meal.
I think I did well by not getting distracted by others and just keeping focussed. I also think I did well making the pictures and facts come in at the right time and also trying to do my best.
I think I could improve on maybe trying to not muck around too much with props and backgrounds until I have the facts and the actual timing right.

Pippiana Powtoon!
Healthy Foods-Powtoon
We were learning how to make a powtoon. I did mine on healthy foods and a balanced diet, because it is so important. It was my first time using the app and I think I did pretty well. I had a lot of fun playing with the animations and pictures. I think the best part of making it was figuring out which way for the food and words to come on and off. Next time I think I could do a few more slides and animations. I also think I could also add some music.

Puppy dog. By Patience KH and Chevylee.
WALT Part 2 Puppy Dog
We learnt how to make an animations and how to share it with your team and your teacher and to put it in the WeVideo Folder
We did well in the animations because it was my first and second time producing and creating the video
I was moving the dogs and Chevy was doing the captures and that is when you are taking the pictures.
I think Chevy and I can improve by not mucking around with the playdough and just getting on with it.
To make sure it is our best work we can work together with each others ideas and double check our videos and see if there is any hands in the video.

Fetch Dog! By Patience KH and Chevylee
WALT Part 1 Fetch Dog!
We were learning how to make animations and how to get it off Stopmotion and onto Wevideo.
I was controlling the dog when the dog was fetching.
I think I did well in moving the dog for my first animation and I enjoyed creating an animation and working with Patience my BFF and putting it all together.
I think I could improve when moving the dog by trying not to bump the background when I move the dog.
To make sure it was our best animation we can work together and share our ideas together and always come up with props together.

The dog. By Nicole, Billie, Jade and Bella.
We were learning how to make animations. To do the animations it took along time we had to make our background and create our characters. First of all we learnt how to use we video and a slow motion app. Then we started taking the pictures. We learnt a lot about making animations.
We think we did great with the background and colouring in the background. We also think that we did great making our characters. We enjoyed moving the characters and taking the pictures. We also loved putting it onto the blog and making a starting and a ending.
What we think we could have done better was to stop putting our hands in the pictures and we think that we should of put in more background at the top of the houses.

Fashion disaster!
What we were doing
We were learning to make animations, we used WeVideo and Stop Motion Animation to create a cool and funny video. We think that it took us a while to do for the first time but we had a lot of fun, we think we did pretty well for our first time.
What We Did Best and What we enjoyed
We had a lot of fun creating the set, moving the dolls and using stop motion to make animations. I think the bit we did best was making it funny and hilarious.
What we think we can do better next time!
We think that we could make sure that our hands are not in the shot when we take each photo because we did that a few times and had to undo it.
We can definitely say it was our best animation yet!
The Race! By Austin, Thomas, Sean and Matheus.
We are learning to use an animation app to make animations.
To make the object move in the video, we would move it a little bit (one frame at a time) to make the object look like it was actually moving by itself.
What did we do well?
What we did well in our animation was that we moved the objects one frame at a time making little movement so it appeared to actually be moving. When we do animations we be careful to not put our hands in the video.(Sometimes we accidentally put our hands in the video but we can undo it.)
We also put the chromebook close to the background and ground for our animation.
What we could do better next time:.
We could put more color in our background.

Paihia School Values
Paihia School Values!
Team work
Doing your best
Resilience
Respect
We started the term by weaving a class waka (thanks Patience KH!)
We put ourselves in the waka. We spent a lot of time discussing the values - what they mean to us and how we can show them. Here is what we came up with....
- The dictionary says that something of value is something’ important or useful’. We think values can be described as qualities or attitudes that people have that are important and useful.
- We have values to help us get along with, and look after each other and the wider world.
Respect
If you
respect someone you admire them and like them.
Some of the
ways we can do this is:
ü By caring for people, living things
and property.
ü Using our manners.
ü Treating others with consideration.
Resilience
Resilience
means having the ability to bounce back and the motivation to move forward.
Some of the
ways we can do this is by:
ü Trying hard and never giving up
ü Keep climbing the mountain.
ü Keep pushing forward and finish the
race.
Doing your best
We think
doing your best means to work hard, try hard and believe in yourself.
ü If you are doing your best you don’t
give up.
ü If you are doing your best you will
achieve a goal.
ü If you are doing your best you will
complete a task.
ü If you are doing your best you will
try something new.
Team work
Team work
means working together as a team.
We can do
this by:
ü Cooperating,
ü Helping each other,
ü Sharing and caring,
ü Working, talking and playing with
different people.
We shared our ideas with the school at our assembly.
